Graduation!!!

We really did do it! We walked yesterday in the Marriot Center at the BYU Commencement Ceremonies. Elder Bednar spoke and gave a great message of maintaining a love for learning and serving. It was amazing to see that great stadium filled with graduates and supportive families.

Today we walked at the Convocation Ceremonies with the David O. McKay School of Education. Quinton was able to walk with me even though his degree is from the School of Family, Home, and Social Science. It was a great ceremony! The speaker spoke about feeding children intellectually, loving them, and changing them for the better. Then Elder Tom Perry spoke about how teachers really do change lives as he gave the example of his son's life being changed by his 5th grade teacher. When we received our diploma we got a picture with the dean and shook Elder Perry's hand. That was my first time shaking the hand of an apostle and it was a sure witness to me that he is a true apostle of God. I am so glad that Quinton and I could experience this together. We have put ourselves through school, so it was nice to finish it together as well.

I was really close with my friends from my cohort. There were about 12 of us that had all the same classes together for a year. We all got along great. This is a picture of those of us who walked today. Also, our very favorite teacher and liaison, Marie Tuttle, was in our picture with us. She really taught us how to love the kids we teach.

Here are some pictures and there will be more to come as I get them from my mom's camera!
